Founded in 2005, Institute of Social Development Chitrakoot is making efforts to bring sustainable changes in the lives of rural community. “People’s centred development through mutual sharing and caring” is the motto of the institute. The main thurst of its entire programme remains on providing empowerment by creating knowledge, skill , motivation and capabilities for livelihood activities and a better society based on social, econmic and political justice. The aims of the Institute is enabling people to realize their full potential and rights to execute programmes of their development at their own by thinking together, planning together and acting together..
Institute of Social Development Chitrakoot feels that a voluntary organisations must play active role in the process of development. . As resources with Institute of Social Development are very limited, the role of volunteerism provide us more help for development activities. Several volunteers have played important roles in the past with this organization and we remember them always. These volunteers have come from different fields like Social Work Education, Rural Development. Study , M.B.A. in Rural Management, Sociology, Psychology, NGO sector,Environment studies, GIS, Agriculture and etc.For all of them association with ISD has been an enriching experience. ISD always maintains communication with the volunteers who have contributed to the organisation.
Anyone can volunteer for ISD. It is indeed immaterial if a prospective volunteer is a student, a teacher, a professional, a social scientist, a farmer, a Gram Pradhan, members of Panchayats, member of NGOs, rural youth, retired person, handicapped youth,lawyers, trade union leaders, human rights worker, journalists, or a housewife also. Education or degree of prospective volunteer is also immaterial. Only t he spirit and zeal of volunteeism should be in the person.
